Not long more, the highly anticipated Galaxy S8 is going to be launched by Samsung in two variants , the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+. Here are some of the rumours that have been flying around the world wide web.

The first thing we will be talking about is the specs, the Galaxy S8 and the S8+ . It will be powered by either the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 or the Samsung Exynos 8895 depending on the market .The Snapdragon 835 will come with an Adreno 540 which will give much higher performance than the predecessor , the Adreno 530 and the Exynos variant will come with a Mali™-G71 MP20 which promises roughly the same amount of boost and efficiency from their predecessor , the Galaxy S7 with Exynos 8890 and Mali T880 MP12. Both variants will come in 4GB of ram which should be enough for daily needs. Both S8 and S8+ will now come with curved displays that has Samsung’s Super AMOLED technology with the S8 getting a 5.8″ curved display and the S8+ which will get a 6.2″ curved display which seemed to verify the fact that we may not see any flagships with flat screens by Samsung at all in the near future but they will include 3D Touch , something that we have seen in the 2015 release of Apple’s iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus. The Galaxy S8 and S8+ will get an improved 12mp camera for better shooting but we still do not know more details regarding the camera factor but we do know exactly the location of the camera which we will take about in the design part of the article but what we do know is a camera hump on the front camera which is from the 5MP f/1.7 on the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge to the 8MP f/1.7 on the Galaxy S8 and S8+. Both phones are confirmed getting Android’s taste of Android 7.0 Nougat. Both phones will also have 7.3mm thickness , a 3.5mm headphone jack and the iris scanner which is carried forward from the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 which had an exploding battery. Speaking of the Note 7’s exploding battery , the Galaxy S8 will come with the same 3000mah as the Galaxy S7 but the S8+ will have a rather much lower battery capacity which is a 3500mah battery.

Now the next thing we will be talking about is the design , the phones screen to body ratio seems to be very high in numbers as the phone is almost borderless but there is still no details regarding this almost borderless display ! Hopefully Samsung took care of the palm rejection. The display consists of curved glass with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. We also have the same glass protecting the front display at the back portion of the phone which is also curved for better grip in the hand but both are still fingerprint magnets. The part portion of the phone houses the same heart rate scanner , the 12mp dual pixel camera and now , a fingerprint scanner. The down part of the phone , we see the legendary 3.5mm headphone jack , type C connector , microphone and the speakers which seem to adopt 24bit audio with 192kHz audio which seems like Samsung is finally focusing on the audio part of the phone while retaining the IP68 water resistant rating on the phone which is really good because water resistant phones tend to have a weak speaker. The S8 may also house the same 7000 series aluminium found on the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S7.

Leaked Galaxy S8 design

Now for the user interface , the Galaxy S8 will more likely have the brand new Samsung Experience UI which is to be seen on the latest Galaxy A 2017 which some icon changes like the gallery icon as seen in some leaks

Also , the Galaxy S8 is rumoured to be running Bixby which is a Personal Assistant on the phone like Siri on Apple’s IOS or Cortana on Windows Phone or Microsoft’s Windows 10. Just recently , the Tab S3 system dump seem to show off S8’s on screen keys and a few more that verifies some of the leaks mentioned . Other stuff regarding the UI is the new Dex dock , which connects to the monitor through a HDMI cable on the back of the dock. This will turn your phone into a desktop-like experience called Samsung Desktop Experience on the external monitor . It still remains as a question mark if Samsung could get a lot of people to use the Samsung Dex dock to use Samsung Desktop Experience as there are billions that use windows as their daily drivers. My guess is that the Samsung Desktop Experience could be very likely based of Linux’s API and therefore we might see more Linux desktop users in the near future.

For now we will just have to wait until the Galaxy S8 officially gets released . Till then , stay tuned for more tech news on !
